Hiroshige "Suijin Shrine and Massaki on the Sumida River" -One Hundred Famous Views of Edo- Kosaka Koichi The work exemplifies the boldThis print is one of Hiroshiges late series, One Hundred Views of Famous Places in Edo. It depicts a distant view over the Sumida River through a branch of a flowering cherry tree. Hiroshige challenges a bold composition with a close view of a cherry tree in front. A combination of pale pink of cherry blossoms over the light blue sky creates a very springy atmosphere. Utagawa Hiroshige "Miesho edo hyakkei: Sumidagawa Suijin no Morimassaki"
